Damon Clear® Brackets
We understand how important a straight, beautiful smile is. This is why we offer state-of-the-art Damon Clear brackets to help you obtain the smile of your dreams. Virtually invisible, these brackets have several clear advantages over traditional braces.
Damon Clear is part of the Damon System, which have a built in “sliding door” that holds the wire in, allowing it to move freely. This movement makes treatment more comfortable and effective, while reducing office visits and overall treatment time. Damon Clear brackets are also smaller than traditional braces; making them easier to clean and maintain. And lastly, unlike other clear or so-called invisible braces which have visible metal parts and elastic ties that can yellow during treatment, they are discrete and resistant to staining and discoloration throughout treatment.
For adult patients searching for a way to straighten their smile without noticeable, bulky materials, we offer Invisalign. This state-of-the-art alternative to braces straightens teeth using a series of clear, plastic aligners that are comfortable and removable. No one will know you are wearing braces unless you tell them!
Now teens don’t have to worry about embarrassing metal braces in their yearbook photos or Facebook profiles – introducing Invisalign® Teen! Invisalign® Teen is the clear way to straighten teeth without metal braces, using aligners. Aligners are removable and virtually invisible, which means you can straighten your teeth without anyone knowing; and you can still eat and drink what you want. Also, you can brush and floss normally to maintain healthy gums and teeth; and there are no wires, metal or brackets to cause mouth abrasions.
Digital X-Rays and Records
We offer one of the latest technological advances in dentistry with digital radiography, also known as digital X-rays. A wireless sensor is placed in the mouth, and a computer generates an image in seconds as opposed to the general 4-6 minute wait time for images taken on dental film. These X-rays can also be enhanced on the computer and enlarged.
No More Impressions!!! We utilize the Cadent iTero™ Intra-Oral Scanner to get an accurate, virtual model of your teeth to help with treatment planning and indirect bonding (see indirect bonding techniques below). The iTero™ Scanner uses lasers and optical scanning to gather digital images of the teeth. This eliminates the need to take traditional impressions/molds of your teeth at the beginning of your treatment.
Indirect Bonding Techniques
With indirect bonding, we can insure that your brackets are positioned in the perfect place with computer precision. First, we will create a virtual model of your teeth using the iTero Scanner, and then study each tooth to determine the ideal position and angle for the bracket to be placed. After all locations are decided upon, the Cadent laboratory will attach the brackets to an actual model of your teeth, and cover them with a soft, flexible tray material, creating a cast of your teeth with the braces attached. These trays are delivered to our office. When you arrive to get your braces, we then apply the bonding solution to each of the brackets. After that, it’s simply a matter of fitting the tray onto to your teeth and applying a little pressure.
At L. Sean Mullins Orthodontics, you are more than just a patient – you are family! We recognize that every patient has different needs, and pride ourselves in the courteous service we deliver to each person who walks through our doors.
